Five STEM-designated master's programs with Integral CPT authorized from the first semester of enrollment.
Avila University Arizona (AUA) is a private, STEM-focused graduate institution located in Goodyear, Arizona, operating as an additional location of Avila University - a higher education institution with over 100 years of academic heritage, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). AUA offers five STEM-designated master's programs on campus in one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States, with strong industry connections to major employers including Amazon, Boeing, Microsoft, and UPS. Through TIC's direct partnership with AUA, all enrolled F-1 students can access Integral CPT authorization from their very first semester, allowing them to work while completing their degree in Goodyear's thriving job market.
Authorized from First Semester of Enrollment: Practical training is fully integrated into the curriculum at Avila University Arizona. CPT is authorized from the very first day of the program for all enrolled F-1 students. Each program includes a mandatory internship course as part of the degree - this is the academic basis for CPT authorization under 8 CFR 214.2(f)(10)(i).
Continuous Authorization: CPT is renewed every 8 weeks (once per term). Students must re-submit their CPT request after each term to maintain continuous authorization. The program includes 6 CPT credits in total - the first 3 are built into tuition and the remaining 3 are provided at no additional cost. CPT is not required for graduation but is available throughout the program.
Regulatory Compliance: The Designated School Officials (DSOs) at AUA manage the SEVIS process in strict accordance with federal regulations. You must receive an updated Form I-20 with CPT authorization before beginning any employment. Working without prior DSO authorization is a violation of F-1 status.
Students attend two on-campus residency weekends per semester (once per 8-week term). Each residency runs Saturday 9:00 AM to approximately 7:00 PM and Sunday 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at AUA's Goodyear campus. Online-only attendance is not permitted for F-1 students.
Course materials, resources, and online sessions are delivered through Canvas, AUA's learning management platform, available 24/7 to support students across all programs.
