Authorized from First Semester of Enrollment: Practical training is fully integrated into the academic programs at the University of Fairfax. Because applied professional experience is required to complete the degree objectives, students are eligible for Integral CPT authorization from their first semester.
Continuous Authorization: Students maintain continuous CPT authorization for the entire duration of their program. Master's students receive an I-20 issued for 2.5 years; Doctorate and PhD students receive an I-20 issued for 5 years. The academic calendar is structured to ensure there are no gaps or breaks in CPT authorization during the academic year.
Regulatory Compliance: The university's Designated School Officials (DSO) manage the SEVIS process strictly in accordance with federal regulations. CPT is officially authorized under 8 CFR 214.2(f)(10)(i).
